The puffer fish, also known as a blowfish, are so named because they blow up into a large ball when they feel threatened by quickly swallowing water or air. The effect makes the puffer fish look like a very angry balloon. They make a suckling-type noise while this is happening. It's the noise of them swallowing more bursts of water or air to maintain puffiness.

Inspired by pufferfish, we designed this and fantastic artwork. Our sterling silver bell is located in the rounded belly of it, and we have engraved details on the belly spines, the eyes and teeth.
